Social Responsibility
To maintain Coral Bay Nickel Corporation's commitment in attaining a sustainable co-existence with the society and the global environment, the company supports meaningful community projects that are beyond the requirements of the SDMP through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in partnership with RTNFI. For 2019, CBNC allocated Php 142.9 Million for its CSR with a utilization rate of 91%. Major activities include continued support to the RTNFI Hospital which provided medical care to a total of 57,418 patients. Likewise, assistance is provided to the Leonides S. Virata Memorial School (LSVMS) which benefitted 1,524 student enrollees who were children of company and non-company employees, and to the Indigenous Learning System (ILS) which benefitted 1,475 students from the indigenous cultural communities. In addition, 320 housing units were built through the company's collaboration with Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation.
