Social Responsibility

To maintain Coral Bay Nickel Corporation's commitment to attaining a sustainable coexistence with society and the global environment, the company supports meaningful community projects that go beyond the requirements of the SDMP through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in partnership with RTNFI. For 2025, CBNC allocated Php 158 million for its CSR programs, achieving a utilization rate of 85%.

Major activities include continued support for the RTNFI Hospital, the only Level-1 hospital in the Municipality of Bataraza licensed by the Department of Health, with an accredited 30-bed capacity. In 2025, it served a total of 48,395 patients.

Likewise, assistance is provided to the Leonides S. Virata Memorial School (LSVMS), a Filipino Catholic private educational institution established in 1986 that offers a comprehensive Kinder to Grade 12 basic curriculum. For the school year 2025 - 2026, LSVMS served 1,185 students, comprising children of both company and non-company employees.

The company also provides support to the Indigenous Learning System (ILS), a partner of the Department of Education in implementing the Alternative Learning System (ALS) for the indigenous Pa'lawans.  A total of 1,257 learners were enrolled for the school year 2025 - 2026. Of these, 1,199 received non-formal education in basic literacy and equivalency skills, while the remaining 58 were assimilated into regular secondary and tertiary schools.

Lastly, 320 housing units were built through the company's collaboration with the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, while 1,259 Palaweños were served during the Annual Medical-Surgical Mission.
