Social Responsibility

To maintain Coral Bay Nickel Corporation's commitment in attaining a sustainable co-existence with the society and the global environment, the company supports meaningful community projects that are beyond the requirements of the SDMP through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in partnership with RTNFI. For 2022, CBNC allocated Php 164.4 million for its CSR with a utilization rate of 82%.  Major activities include continued support to the RTNFI Hospital which provided medical care to a total of 46,783 patients. Likewise, assistance is provided to the Leonides S. Virata Memorial School (LSVMS) which benefitted 1,339 student enrollees who are children of company and non-company employees, and  to the Indigenous Learning System (ILS) which benefitted 1,209 students from the indigenous cultural communities. In addition, 320 housing units were built through the company's collaboration with Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation while 259 beneficiaries received free surgical operations and ophtalmology consultations during the Annual Medical-Surgical Mission.
