Coral Bay Nickel Corporation was recognized as one of the best in the South East Asian Region as it won the award for Best Practices in Sustainable Mineral Development under the Metallic Mineral Processing Category during the 2nd ASEAN Mineral Awards (AMA) that was held in Bangkok, Thailand on December 13, 2019.

CBNC is also a consistent recipient of the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award (PMIEA). Created under Executive Order No. 399, series of 1997, the PMIEA is the highest accolade conferred to mineral industry companies with outstanding safety and health, environmental protection and enhancement, and social development and management programs. Last November 23, 2024, CBNC took home its latest PMIEA during the 70th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) held in Baguio City.









During the 70th ANMSEC, CBNC also won the Safest Mineral Processing Plant Award under the Extraction Category and Best Mining Forest Award under the Mineral Processing Plant Category. On top of these, two (2) employees were recognized in the Mines’ Best Personalities Category. These were Krizthel Lourdes Amanca and Aimee Polanco who won as Best Processing Plant Operator and Best Plant Supervisor respectively.




Meanwhile, the exemplary social projects of the company achieved recognition on April 4, 2017 as the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) vested CBNC the Outstanding Community Project Award.

On June 19, 2017, CBNC was named by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development as an Environment Champion during the 25th Anniversary of the SEP Law or the Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan.

The DENR Mines and Geosciences Bureau in the MIMAROPA Region also recognized the company’s milestone in generating Sixteen Million man-hours without incurring lost time accident excluding the man-hours worked of its service contractors from July 14, 2013 to March 31, 2023.
