Bataraza Mayor Abraham M. Ibba recognized the big contribution of Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC) and Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) in the development of the town’s sports facilities.

Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC) is hailed as ASEAN’s finest topping Best in Practices in Sustainable Mineral Development, at an awarding ceremony held on December 13, 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.

For the Development of Mining Technology and Geosciences (DMTG), Coral Bay Nickel Corporation spent a total of Php 34 Million in 2017 for various researches and scholarship grants, including the Coral Gardening Project which envisions to propagate corals within the bodies of water surrounding CBNC.

The Medical-Surgical Mission is a yearly initiative of Coral Bay Nickel Corporation in partnership with RTNMC as part of the two company's Corporate Social Responsiblity (CSR). The program started way back in 1991 and continues to help indigent residents across the province of Palawan up to this day by providing free surgical operations in both minor and major categories.

Coral Bay Nickel Corporation supported the first Inter-Barangay Basketball Association (IBBA Cup) which opened in June 16, 2017. San Miguel Beermen Marcio Lassiter graced the opening ceremonies following the traditional parade of the teams and oath of sportsmanship. After three months of hardcourt action, the event was capped off by the awarding ceremonies held last September 23, 2017 to recognize the best of the best.
